Donald Trump’s $100 million lawsuit against The New York Times and its reporters over a 2018 report on his taxes has been dismissed by a judge.

The report, which won a Pulitzer Prize, revealed how Trump’s real estate business minimized tax liability by claiming suspiciously low valuations on properties and how he inherited more than $400 million from his father.

Trump had also accused his niece, Mary Trump, of violating a confidentiality agreement by acting as a source for the Times report. Still, the judge dismissed this argument, stating that the reporters were simply reporting on a matter of public interest.

New York State Supreme Court Justice Robert Reed emphasized that “reporters are entitled to engage in legal and ordinary news-gathering activities without fear of liability.” The judge ordered Trump to pay the news outlet’s attorney’s fees and costs.
